Awards, Awards!

Andrea over at Arise 2 Write has kindly awarded her bloggy friends the following two awards, and I happily accept them! Andrea is a sweet and lovely lady, and if you've never visited her blog, please pop on over there!

For this first award, I'm supposed to tell you 5 things that I love to do.

  1. Spend time at the beach, especially the Outer Banks of NC.

  2. Read and write.

  3. Work with young children.

  4. Spend time with my family.

  5. Play and snuggle with our dog.

The Lemonade Award makes me think of my "I Get To Tuesday" posts. In these posts, I try to find the blessings in unpleasant tasks and events. I turn my "I Have To's" into "I Get To's". In other words, I'm making lemonade out of lemons.

I pray that you all will begin to join me in these posts by posting your own "I Get To Tuesday" list on your blog and then linking to my blog.

Please feel free to take these awards for yourselves! I feel blessed to know each of you through your blogs. Andrea, my dear friend, thank you for passing these awards to me!

I'm Walking Down the Red Carpet

While I was at the writer's conference, two special bloggy friends of mine sent me awards! First, Kat of Heart 2 Heart, sent me the Loyal Friend and Visitor Award. This award is for those loyal followers that comment and follow you no matter where you go, offer a kind word when you need to hear it, and just keep encouraging you on to take that next step. That sums up Kat in a nutshell! She's always leaving me kind comments!

I would like to pass this on to a few loyal bloggy friends:

  1. Beth at An Instrument 4 His Glory
  2. Kelly at Chatty Kelly
  3. Sue J. at CREATE: Making Something of Today
  4. Sonya at Truth 4 the Journey

I could add Andrea at Arise 2 Write and Collette at Jesus Loves Mums, but I see that Kat has already passed this award on to them!

Speaking of Andrea, my second award came from her! She blessed me with the Neno Award. Neno's award is given to those who love blogging, love to encourage friendships through blogging, and who help others seek the reasons why we all love blogging.

I would like to pass this award on to:

  1. Collette at Jesus Loves Mums
  2. Nan at Mom's the Word
  3. Jeanette at Audience of One

I would add Kat to this list, but Andrea beat me to it!

Thank you to everyone who blesses me by just visiting my blog or by offering your comments, thoughts, ideas and funny stories! Each of you is an inspiration to me to keep on writing and sharing my thoughts in the blog world. Thank you also to Kat and Andrea for passing these awards to me! I am blessed by your friendship! If you are not familiar with some of the blogs I've mentioned here, please check them out! They will add a smile to your day!

(If anyone can tell me why my font is different in the middle of this post, I'd be much obliged. This happens to me every once in a while. Sometimes I can fix it and other times I can't!)

Honest Scrap Award

Just this morning, Andrea over at Arise 2 Write, awarded me the Honest Scrap Award. Andrea also has another blog entitled All Gods Creatures where she blogs about her therapy dogs. Actually, her dog, Sitka, is the one who blogs here! (How does he type without thumbs?) Andrea has a loving and open heart which she shares with her readers and with those who are sick or have special needs. This is the second time Andrea has given me an award and I just want to say, "Thank you, my dear bloggy friend!" Please pop in and visit both of her blogs.

In accepting this award, I need to do the following: 1) Say thanks and give a link to the presenter of the award. 2) Share "ten honest things" about myself. 3) Present this award to 7 others whose blogs I find brilliant in content and/or design, or those who have encouraged me. 4) Tell those 7 people that they've been awarded HONEST SCRAP and inform them of these guidelines in receiving it.

Okay, ten honest things about me:
  1. I love the Lord but need to constantly remind myself to get into His word more often.

  2. I am by nature an introvert. I'd rather converse in writing. I HATE talking on the phone. (I know, that's some strong language to use.)

  3. Since I love God, I do push myself into more extrovert type situations in order to serve Him and to make sure I don't become a hermit!

  4. I am on medication for depression and anxiety. It's something that runs in my family, and I believe it is completely a chemical imbalance. I really don't have anything in my past or present to be depressed about! I did have a miscarriage last year, but the depression and anxiety existed long before this happened.

  5. I love the beach and would live there if I could afford to!

  6. I live in Pennsylvania but would move back to Chesapeake, VA, at the drop of a hat. (This can also be read as, "I dislike cold weather and snow!")

  7. I have two sons. Even though I grew up with all sisters and am really not a tomboy, I wouldn't know what to do with a daughter! I'm just not a girly girl.

  8. Besides the Bible, my favorite book is Little Women. The only reason I wish I had a daughter is so that I'd have someone to share this book with and my Little House on the Prairie books with. (Although, my boys did watch the movie Little Women with me once! Okay, it was a rainy day and they had nothing else to do.)

  9. My two least favorite household chores are dusting and emptying the dishwasher.

  10. I wish I could play the piano and the flute!

Now to pass this award on to 7 bloggy friends. They are, in no particular order, the following:

  1. Sara at Gitzen Girl.

  2. Cindy at Army Brats and Me.

  3. Kelly at Chatty Kelly.

  4. Sheryl at The Perch.

  5. Nan at Mom's the Word.

  6. Jennifer at His Grace is Sufficient.

  7. Sue at CREATE: Making Something of Today.

All of these wonderful ladies and their blogs have been a blessing to me. Please visit them for inspiration, reality and some funnies!

Hugs and Blessings to all of you today!
