Today's Foto Friday theme is Summer. Well, since my kids aren't out of school yet, and we've had SO MUCH rain, I don't have any pictures that scream summer yet. So these will have to do for now.

Don't my boys look like they're having so much fun in the pouring rain? These were taken at the WWII Weekend last Friday.

Here's Otto the Super Dog enjoying a sunny moment in our backyard! His soccer ball is deflated. He pops every ball we give him. Alas, the boys were away, so he had no one to play with.

Okay, here are two videos of the boys shooting a machine gun at the WWII Weekend. The first video shows Sam, and the second one shows Cooper.

Foto Friday

Okay, I showed you the messes around my house a few weeks ago (which, by the way, are slowly being cleaned up now that I'm off for the summer). Now Mrs. Tracy is taking one of my Foto Friday suggestions which is to show the least favorite parts of your home. So here are three ugly things in my home.

This lovely flooring is in my laundry room. Pretty, isn't it? It makes me dizzy! My neighbor down the street had the exact same flooring in her downstair's bathroom. Apparently, at one time, the people who lived in my house were friends with the people who lived in her house and they decided to share the beauty!

Then there is this gorgeous flooring that graces my kitchen. Even when I wash it, it still doesn't look clean!

Now our front door was okay until we got our dog five years ago. We had just painted the downstairs and things were looking nice, and then we brought Otto home. He is constantly at this door barking at anyone who walks down our street. We want to fix it but figure what's the point?

Foto Friday

Today's Foto Friday theme is Outside Fun. Since we're just getting into the summer of 2009, these photos are a little old. The first two pics are from our trip to Gettysburg in July 2007. You'll see Sam and Coop pretending to be dead soldiers. Then there is a photo of Eric and I.
The next two pics are from our trip to the Outer Banks in July 2008. The first one shows Sam playing wiffle ball on the beach. Then there is Cooper posing with his boogie board.
This last photo is of Eric at Six Flags Water Park during our trip to Illinois in July 2008. We were out there visiting his family.

Foto Friday

Today's Foto Friday theme by Mrs. Tracy is Messy! Boy, can our family do messy!

This is the top of our dishwasher. It is my mess and it drives my husband crazy because we have very little counter space in our kitchen!


This is our piano bench with my classroom stuff strewn all over it. All this stuff needs to be filed away!


This is our dining room table at the current moment. It began the week perfectly clean. Now each of us has at least one thing on this table.

Okay, get the theme music from the movie Jaws going in your brain. This is the hallway just outside of my sons' small room which they share. Get ready to turn the corner and look terrified!

Swim.....or run as fast as you can!

This is our office. My husband works in here each day. Half of the mess is his and half is mine. I don't know how he can stand to be in here all the time!

My school year ends two weeks before my kids' school year. You KNOW what I'll be doing during those two weeks! I always do a deep clean of my sons' bedroom during this time of the year because it's easier to do when they're not home!

I figure this state of messiness is just a season of my life. Once my kids are grown my house will be clean and stay clean!

Foto Friday

Today's Foto Friday theme (by Mrs. Tracy) is Easter Fun. I have to admit, I didn't get the best pictures this year. I can never seem to get a good pic of my oldest son at Easter or Christmas. These photos are of their Easter egg hunt. My husband reveled in the fact that since the boys are older now, he could make the hunt really tough! In the middle picture, notice the ancient window air conditioner. Eric put an egg there and when Cooper went to grab it, the egg fell into the air conditioner! So now we need to remove the unit from the window and get the egg out. If we don't do it soon, we're going to have a smelly situation on our hands! (By the way, the Snausages in the first pic are for the dog. The Easter Beagle visits our house along with the Easter Bunny!)

This week's theme is "Four Footed Friends".

This is my rabbit Daffy. I got him for myself for Mother's Day one year. I was told she was a girl named Daffodil and that I should have her spade because female rabbits are prone to cancer. I took her in to have the procedure done and found out HE had to be neutered instead! So I'm still the only female in the house and Daffodil is now Daffy!

Our neighbor's cat, Fuzz, always comes over to visit. Here he has just discovered Sandy the gerbil. Sandy is my classroom pet, and she spent Christmas break at our house.

Our dog Otto meets Patrick my classroom guinea pig. Patrick is spending the Easter break with us.

Otto and Daddy "Wore Out" from a long Christmas Day 2008!

Tracy over at Our Journey is hosting Foto Friday. Today's theme is "Wore Out". I thought I'd post this picture due to a conversation I had with my husband this week.

Eric is a night owl and NOT a morning person. He's the only person I know who can sleep in the shower. Thankfully, he works from home and can set his own hours. Yesterday our younger son had to be to school by 7:45 for an early morning band practice. I asked Eric to get up because he was going to take Coop to school. His response was, "I'm stretching." I told him he would stretch for a half hour and then go sleep in the shower for another half hour if we let him. It was then that he told me his super power is sleeping. So I told him that my super power is nagging and he had better get up! He should have a cape that says "Super Sleeper" on the back! The funny thing is, Eric used to work part-time at a mattress store called Sleepy's. I told him I assume that's where he went to train and fine tune his amazing super power skills!
