I was reading in Romans the other night and came across this verse: Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for noble purposes and some for common use? Romans 9:21
It got me to thinking how I was probably made for common use. I'm not doing anything more than the next woman. I'm a wife, a mom, a daughter, a friend, a teacher....all pretty common things. When I hear about someone doing something that I and others consider to be more noble than what we common people are doing, I can feel rather down on myself.
That's where the "I get to" thoughts come into play for me. I am reminded to look at my blessings, which may seem ordinary to me, but they would mean the world to someone else. With so many marriages crumbling, I've been married for 19 years to a hard working, wonderful man. I have children; both of my parents are still living (in their 80's); I have lots of friends to have fun with and to lean on; and I really enjoy my job.
Even though I feel common, I have a feeling that I'm noble in God's eyes just because I'm His child. Hopefully, most things I do in my common life will result in noble purposes. My nobleness may not be revealed until after I go home to Him, but that's okay because that is how He molded my life.
Yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand. Isaiah 64:8

It is easy to compare ourselves with others, isn't it? But it's also important to reflect on God's blessings to us, like you did!
Yup, boys and doctor visits just seem to go together, lol!

I think it is what we as humans living in a sin-filled world are being fed in our thoughts and minds. Looking at people and wishing our lives were different.
How wonderful it will be when we live in a sin free world!

I love your application of God's word to your life. We are the clay and He has molded us for whatever purpose.
I think being a mom, wife, teacher and friend and daughter is pretty noble.
I used to wonder what my purpose was and God reminded me over and over that it was to teach and raise our kids with my hubby.
Now things are changing and I need to go to work. Our kids will go to public school for the first time. I guess my purpose will change a little. All in God's timing and His plan.

You are more than noble in GOD's eyes..and no work for HIM is insignificant. You will touch lives that others are not able to touch and often you may not even know it.
